Defenders

Fikayo Tomori - 3.0: A disastrous performance that cost his team the game. The first yellow was clumsy but perhaps understandable. The second one just minutes later was utterly reckless and unforgivable. He completely sabotaged any chance AC Milan had. From our perspective, he was the worst performer on the pitch.

Strahinja Pavlović - 6.5: One of the few Milan players to emerge with any credit. He was solid for the most part, with an exceptional pass accuracy. Tried to hold the backline together after the red card. It felt like he was fighting a losing battle, but he didn't give up. A respectable effort in a shambolic team performance.

Matteo Gabbia - 5.5: Looked shaky and struggled against the movement of Sassuolo's attackers. He was dribbled past and lost a few key duels. While he made a number of clearances, his overall positioning was suspect. Not his finest hour, and he seemed to lack confidence.

Youssouf Fofana - 5.5: A very quiet and ineffective game from Fofana. He was largely anonymous before being substituted just before the hour mark. He failed to get a grip on the midfield and lost possession too easily. A performance he'll want to forget quickly.

Ardon Jashari - 6.0: Ran around a lot but to little effect. His work rate can't be questioned, but his final ball was lacking. He was busy without being productive, a frustrating combination. Seemed to be chasing shadows for large parts of the match.

Rafael Leão - 5.0: What stood out to us was just how quiet he was. For a player of his calibre, he was completely missing in action. One shot off target and then hooked before the 60th minute. A really disappointing outing where he offered next to nothing.

Christopher Nkunku - 4.5: Even more anonymous than Leão. He barely touched the ball and made zero impact before being rightly substituted at halftime. It was a surprise to see him start, and on this evidence, it was a poor decision. Looked completely off the pace.

Stefano Turati - 6.5: Had a very quiet afternoon, which is a testament to the defence in front of him. He didn't have a single save to make. His distribution was okay. An easy clean sheet, but he did everything that was asked of him without any fuss.

Defenders

Sebastian Walukiewicz - 7.5: A really strong performance at the back. He was defensively sound and his passing was almost perfect. What really caught our eye was his contribution going forward, creating a big chance for his team. A composed and impressive display.

Jay Idzes - 6.5: Only played 40 minutes but was flawless in that time. He completed 100% of his passes and looked comfortable before being substituted. Did his job well while he was on the pitch.

Ulisses Garcia - 7.0: A constant threat down the left flank. He was solid defensively and provided a great outlet in attack, even creating a chance. His energy was infectious. Picked up a yellow card but it didn't detract from a very good performance.

Ismaël Koné - 6.5: A mixed performance. He was brilliant at times, driving forward and getting into the final third. However, he was also a bit careless, losing the ball and making an error that led to a shot. A dynamic player who just needs to add a bit more consistency.
