Sporting 4-1 Kairat Player Ratings: Francisco Trincão 9.5/10 Rated as Green and Whites Secures a Dominant 4-1 Victory

Sporting CP vs Kairat Player Ratings

After a dull first half at the Estadio Jose Alvalade. Sporting CP dismantled a struggling Kairat side in their Champions League encounter. The final 4-1 scoreline perhaps even flattered the visitors, who were on the back foot for the majority of the match. The host intent was clear from the first whistle, but they were initially met with frustration with missed opportunities. Morten Hjulmand saw his 21st-minute penalty saved brilliantly, and Luis Suárez rattled the woodwork. It took a moment of magic from Francisco Trincão just before halftime to finally break the deadlock. That goal opened the floodgates for what was to come in the second half.

The second half was pure dominance. Three goals in a chaotic three-minute spell from Trincão, substitute Alisson Santos, and Geovany Quenda put the game completely out of reach. Kairat did manage a late consolation goal through Edmilson, but it was a mere footnote in a match comprehensively controlled by Sporting CP. Here are the Sporting vs Kairat player ratings.

Sporting Player Ratings vs Kairat

Here are the Sporting player ratings.

Goalkeeper

João Virgínia - 6.5: Had a relatively quiet evening but was alert when needed. Made a few decent saves, including one sharp stop in the second half. He couldn't do much about the consolation goal which was a well-taken strike. Overall, a steady performance without being truly tested.

Defenders

Maximiliano Araújo - 6.5: An energetic presence on the flank before being substituted. He got forward well and was solid defensively for the most part. He lost the ball a few times but his work rate was impressive. A decent outing for the defender.

Iván Fresneda - 7.5: A fantastic creative outlet from the back. Fresneda was a constant threat, creating two big chances and grabbing an assist. His defensive work was also solid, winning a good number of his duels. What stood out to us was his confidence on the ball.

Gonçalo Bernardo - 7.0: A commanding presence, despite a big chance missed early on. He sprayed passes all over the pitch, with an impressive 22 passes into the final third. Defensively, he was mostly sound, making four crucial interceptions. He looked a little shaky in some one-on-one duels but recovered well.

Eduardo Quaresma - 7.0: A rock at the back. Quaresma made six clearances and was strong in the air, winning most of his aerial battles. His passing was crisp and accurate, helping to build attacks from deep. He was a reliable and calming influence throughout the game.

Midfielders

Geovany Quenda - 9.0: Simply sensational. The young midfielder was at the heart of everything good for Sporting. He scored a goal, provided an assist, and created a big chance. His dribbling was a nightmare for the Kairat defence. The yellow card for his celebration was the only minor blemish on a near-perfect performance.

Pedro Gonçalves - 7.0: A livewire during his time on the pitch. Pote was a constant menace with his dribbling, completing seven successful runs. He created two chances and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself. He was taken off just as the game opened up.

Giorgi Kochorashvili - 7.0: Provided a lovely assist and was tidy in possession. His pass completion rate was excellent, helping to control the tempo in midfield. He picked up an early yellow card but managed his game well after that. A solid, if unspectacular, performance before being subbed.

Francisco Trincão - 9.5: The clear man of the match. Trincão was unplayable. He scored two wonderful goals, including the crucial opener that broke Kairat's resistance. He was a constant threat with his shooting and dribbling. From our perspective, this was a performance that reminded everyone of his immense talent.

Morten Hjulmand - 6.0: A mixed bag for the captain. The missed penalty was a huge moment of frustration in the first half. However, he did create three chances and was generally tidy in possession. We noticed he seemed to let the penalty miss affect him for a period.

Forwards

Luis Javier Suárez - 7.5: Extremely unlucky not to score. He won the penalty, hit the woodwork twice, and was a general nuisance for the 61 minutes he played. His movement and power caused all sorts of problems. On another day, he could have had a hat-trick.

Substitutes

Alisson Santos - 7.5: What an impact. Came on and scored a fantastic goal from outside the box almost immediately. Looked sharp and dangerous.

Hidemasa Morita - 7.5: Another substitute who made a huge difference. He provided the assist for Quenda's goal and brought a new level of control and creativity to the midfield.

Fotis Ioannidis - 6.0: Came on and worked hard, drawing a foul, but didn't have the same game-changing impact as the other substitutes.

Matheus Reis - 6.0: Slotted in seamlessly at the back and provided an outlet for a blocked shot. A solid cameo.

Zeno Debast - 5.5: Came on, committed a foul, and got a yellow card. Didn't have much time to do anything else.

Manager

R. Gomes Borges - 8.0: His game plan worked perfectly. Sporting were patient after the penalty miss and his second-half substitutions were inspired, completely killing the game off. A great tactical victory.

Kairat Player Ratings vs Sporting

Here are the Kairat player ratings.

Goalkeeper

Sherhan Kalmurza - 6.5: Despite conceding four goals, it could have been much worse without him. He made a crucial penalty save and a few other key stops. He was left completely exposed by his defence for the goals. A battling performance in a losing effort.

Defenders

Luís Mata - 5.5: He was busy, making five tackles, but struggled against the pace and movement of Sporting's attack. Was eventually substituted after a tough evening trying to contain the waves of attacks.

Aleksandr Martynovich - 5.0: The captain had a difficult night. He made a number of clearances but struggled in his duels and was caught out of position a few times. He looked overwhelmed by the quality of the opposition.

Erkin Tapalov - 4.5: A torrid time. He was dribbled past four times and lost most of his duels before being hauled off. From our seat, he looked completely off the pace and was a weak link in the backline.

Egor Sorokin - 5.0: He was another defender who had a torrid time. Dribbled past multiple times and seemed to struggle with the physicality of the Sporting forwards. Not his best night.

Midfielders

Damir Kasabulat - 6.0: He was neat on the ball and tried to get his team moving forward but was largely overrun in the midfield battle. He worked hard but couldn't stem the tide of Sporting's attacks.

Jorginho - 7.0: Kairat's best player on the night. He was a bright spark in a poor team performance, drawing four fouls and creating two chances. He never stopped trying to make things happen and showed real quality on the ball.

Ofri Arad - 6.0: He had a few decent moments, creating a big chance, but was also dribbled past five times which is a shocking statistic. He struggled with the defensive side of his game and was substituted.

Aleksandr Mrynskiy - 4.5: A disastrous performance. He conceded the penalty with a clumsy foul and was generally poor throughout. He looked out of his depth and was a liability for his team before being subbed.

Valeriy Gromyko - 4.0: Our worst performer of the match. He lost possession an incredible 24 times and was dribbled past on six separate occasions. He offered very little going forward and was a passenger for large parts of the game.

Forwards

Dastan Satpaev - 5.5: He had a couple of shots on target but was mostly isolated up front. He struggled to hold up the ball or link play, and his night ended with a yellow card for simulation. A frustrating evening for the striker.

Substitutes

Edmilson - 7.5: Scored a fantastic consolation goal with a powerful strike. He brought energy and a direct threat that was missing.

Jug Stanojev - 6.0: Came on but struggled to get involved in the game as Sporting controlled possession.

Adilet Sadybekov - 6.0: Similar to Stanojev, had little opportunity to influence proceedings.

Lev Kurgin - 6.0: Brought on for the final 10 minutes with the game already lost.

Ricardinho - 7.0: Provided a great assist for the goal, showing a spark of creativity in his short time on the pitch.

Manager

R. Urazbakhtin - 5.0: His team set up to defend but were ultimately carved open with ease. They looked disorganised, particularly in the second half, and the manager seemed unable to stop the collapse.
