The CONCACAF Gold Cup Final was nothing less than a thrilling spectacle. The glorious opportunity for both teams was reckoned tonight as the survivor had a chance to etch their names in golden letters in the history books of this prestigious competition. USMNT and Mexico, the two best teams in the tournament, locked horns against each other for a bid to be crowned, the Gold Cup Champions.

USA eyed their eighth title whereas Mexico were keen to retain the Gold Cup honours.

USMNT thought their 4th minute goal would be the sole difference but Raul Jiminez equalised the scoreline in the 27th minute. When it appeared this game had no goals and we would have an additional 30 minutes of play, Edson Alvarez scored a header, that will be remembered for ages in Mexican folklore as Mexico defeated USA 2-1 to become the undisputed champions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2025.

The defending champions and the most successful team in the history of the CONCACAF Gold Cup lifted their tenth title. Tears of happiness in the Mexican camp as they become the first side to win this trophy 10 times. The USA still cannot believe their fate. They took an early lead in the fourth minute, but still fell short of the championship. The home team had to settle with a silver medal this time. The West Ham midfielder's name will be inked in golden letters in Mexican history after his header almost won the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2025 for Mexico.

Marcel Ruiz - 8.5/10

The Deportivo Toluca midfielder made no mistake in finding Raul Jimenez. He contributed an assist to the equaliser that was buried into the goal by Raul.

The Fulham striker, with so much experience playing in the English top flight, scored when it mattered the most for his country. When it seemed, the USA's early goal would be the only difference, Jimenez stepped up to pull an equaliser.
