What a rollercoaster of a match at the London Stadium. From our perspective, this was a classic game of two halves. Burnley came out with a clear plan and executed it perfectly in the first half stunning the home crowd. They deservedly took the lead through a fantastic header.

However, West Ham United showed incredible character to fight back. They clawed one back just before the break, which felt like a massive moment in the match. It completely changed the team talks, you'd imagine. The second half was all about the Hammers' resilience and the manager's inspired changes.

The substitutes were the real story here, turning the tide decisively in favor of the home side. It was a thrilling encounter in the Premier League that showcased determination and tactical nous. We noticed a significant shift in energy and confidence for West Ham after their equalizer, and they never looked back.

Goalkeeper

Alphonse Areola - 6.5: He couldn't do much about the goal he conceded, a well-placed header. Made a couple of important saves, especially one inside the box that kept his team in it. His distribution was a bit hit-and-miss, with only 56% pass accuracy, but he was commanding in his area when needed, claiming a high ball well. A solid, if unspectacular, performance from the keeper.

Defenders

Aaron Wan-Bissaka - 7.0: A really strong defensive display. From our perspective, his four interceptions were crucial in breaking up Burnley's attacks on his flank. He was tidy in possession and won most of his duels. He even managed to get forward and contribute to the attack, showing a good balance. A reliable and composed performance.

Jean-Clair Todibo - 6.5: A busy afternoon for the central defender. He made five clearances and a couple of crucial blocks. He was generally solid but was part of a defense that looked a bit shaky in the first half. His passing was clean and helped build from the back, but he was caught out once or twice. Decent overall.

Maximilian Kilman - 6.0: It was a mixed bag for Kilman. He made some important clearances and blocks, but he struggled in the air, losing all three of his aerial duels. He was comfortable on the ball with high pass accuracy but seemed to struggle with the physicality of Burnley's forwards at times. An average day at the office for him.

El Hadji Malick Diouf - 6.5: What stood out to us was his energy. He was a constant outlet on the left, recovering the ball eight times and making three interceptions. However, his final product was lacking and he lost possession thirteen times, which is far too high. He showed promise and work rate, but needs more refinement in the final third.

Midfielders

Mateus Fernandes - 8.0: Our highest-rated player, and for good reason. He was simply superb in the middle of the park. An incredible 98% pass accuracy shows his composure and quality on the ball. He created three chances for his teammates and was a constant creative force. He also put in a defensive shift, winning his tackles and duels. A complete midfield performance.

Freddie Potts - 7.0: It was a real shame his game was cut short by injury. Before he went off, he was one of West Ham's most creative players, creating three chances and delivering dangerous crosses. He was everywhere, making tackles and driving the team forward. His injury was a blow but his contribution was significant while he was on.

Lucas Paquetá - 6.0: A frustrating game for the Brazilian. We noticed his desire to make things happen, but it just wasn't his day. He lost possession 15 times and picked up a silly yellow card. He did show flashes of his quality, drawing fouls and getting a shot on target, but it was an inconsistent performance overall.

Forwards

Jarrod Bowen - 6.5: The captain worked tirelessly but struggled to find his rhythm. His passing accuracy was surprisingly low, and he lost the ball far too often. Despite this, he remained a threat and had a good shot saved. His effort can't be faulted, but the quality just wasn't quite there in this match.

Crysencio Summerville - 6.0: He was lively and looked to take on his man, but much like Bowen, he lacked the final product. He got into good positions but his shots were blocked or off target. He was caught offside at a key moment and just couldn't make a decisive impact before being substituted.

Callum Wilson - 7.5: He did exactly what a striker is paid to do. He scored the vital equalizing goal with a classic poacher's header. He was a physical presence, winning duels and drawing fouls to relieve pressure. His hold-up play was excellent, and he was a constant nuisance for the Burnley defence. A great shift.

Substitutes

Tomás Soucek - 8.0: What an impact. Came on and completely changed the game, scoring the go-ahead goal. He brought energy and a goal threat from midfield that was missing. A perfect substitution.

Kyle Walker-Peters - 7.5: Another substitute who made a decisive contribution. He came on and sealed the victory with a well-taken goal. His pace and directness caused immediate problems for a tiring Burnley defence.

Igor Julio - 7.0: Entered the fray and provided the assist for the third goal. A calm and composed cameo, he helped see the game out with professionalism.

Soungoutou Magassa - 6.0: Came on to add fresh legs and did his job without much fanfare. A quiet but solid contribution.

N. Simões Espírito Santo - 8.0: His team looked in trouble at 1-0 down, but he deserves immense credit. Quilindschy Hartman - 5.5: He showed some attacking intent, creating two chances, but his defensive responsibilities were neglected. He lost possession an alarming 23 times and was often caught too far up the pitch. West Ham exploited the space he left behind, especially in the second half.

Josh Cullen - 7.5: The captain kept possession neatly with 94% pass accuracy, but it was all a bit too safe. He was a one-man wrecking crew in midfield. It’s a shame his teammates couldn't match his intensity. An outstanding individual display.

Lesley Ugochukwu - 6.0: He had a decent game, drawing four fouls and getting a shot on target. He battled hard in midfield but was often outnumbered. He showed good energy but faded as West Ham began to dominate the middle of the park. A solid but unspectacular effort.

Loum Tchaouna - 5.0: A really ineffective performance. He struggled to get involved in the game and was a liability in possession, losing it 16 times in just 67 minutes. An error leading to a shot summed up his poor afternoon. It was no surprise to see him substituted.

Forwards

Zian Flemming - 7.0: Scored a brilliant header to give Burnley a shock lead. He was a real threat in the first half and worked hard off the ball. However, his influence waned significantly in the second half, and he picked up a yellow card before being taken off. He provided his team's main moment of quality.
