Summary
Chelsea toyed with West Ham United as they cruised to their first win of the season with a 5-1 scoreline. The hosts opened the scoring early on through a world-class goal by Lucas Paqueta. Chelsea took advantage of West Ham's poor defence to score thrice through Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez. Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah scored in the second half to pile on West Ham's misery.
In an absolute rollercoaster of a first half, Chelsea came back from behind to seal the result before halftime. Paqueta gave the hosts a shock lead with a thunderbolt. Pedro swiftly equalised as he headed home from a Marc Cucurella flick-on. The Hammers were denied by VAR when Niclas Fullkrug thought he put them ahead. Chelsea then turned the heat as Pedro made a goal for Pedro Neto, who volleyed from a tight angle. Fernandez then made it 3-1 after tapping home from close range as the teenager Estevao registered his first Premier League assist.
The fourth goal from Caicedo after Mads Hermansen inexplicably dropped the ball led to a mass walkout from the Hammers fans.
Pedro set up Chalobah from a corner to make it 5-1. The stadium was empty, along with the bench for Chelsea, as they rotated heavily. Here are the West Ham vs Chelsea Player Ratings.

Goalkeeper
Mads Hermansen-4/10
Failed to command his area effectively and was powerless to stop any of the goals. Made decent saves here and there. Dropped the ball poorly for the second goal.
Defenders
Jean-Clair Todibo-6/10
He was tormented by Neto's pace as he often defended him head-on. He failed to time his jumps out of defence, leading to huge gaps.
Max Kilman-5/10
Couldn't communicate effectively with his partners to maintain a strict backline. He was losing multiple battles to Chelsea's forward line.
Nayef Aguerd-5/10
The Moroccan international was an outlet for them on the left and often dribbled into the midfield to create options for his side.

Midfielders
Aaron Wan-Bissaka-3/10
Had probably the toughest game of his career as he was at fault for three goals conceded. Failing to mark his runners in defence and being weak in duels when on the ball ensured he had a disastrous outing.
James Ward-Prowse-5/10
The midfielder had no answers to contain Chelsea's threat on the break. Besides, his ball-playing left a lot to be desired.
Tomas Soucek-5/10
The usual calmness in the midst of chaos was completely lost as he failed to do anything meaningful against the opposition.
Malick Diouf-6.5/10
Picked up the simplest assist of his career with a simple square pass. He made some crucial interventions in defence but ultimately gave the ball away for the second goal.
Lucas Paqueta-8/10
Opened the scoring with a firecracker as he served us something special from Brazil. He was then marked as a target for the opposition's press.
Forwards
Jarrod Bowen-6/10
Tried to be the one-man army for his side in the attack. Shielded the ball well, brought others into play by creating spaces, but he couldn't enter the penalty box.
Niclas Fullkrug-6/10
Scored a fantastic goal that was offside, and was trying hard to impress on the pitch. He was, however, poor during setpieces.

Manager
Graham Potter-4/10
The manager is treading on thin ice as his bloated squad and a lack of discipline cost his side dearly. His tactics are clearly proving to be ineffective as the opposition worked it out by sitting through deep

Goalkeeper
Robert Sanchez-6/10
His positioning was awful for the first goal as he flapped his arms and missed the ball. Barely anything to do in the second half.
Defenders
Malo Gusto-6/10
Shrugged off an early injury scare to continue playing in his favourite league. However, he was constantly resisting
Trevoh Chalobah-6/10
He is having a favourable start to life again in London, as he made some crucial tackles. He scored in the second half from a corner.
Tosin-7/10
He was a rusty player early on, given his recent injuries. However, he grew into the game to lead the back line.
Marc Cucurella-6/10
Made the first goal with a fine flick on and was in a sound place. He was happy to know the goal he allowed to go in was chalked off.

Midfielders
Enzo Fernandez-8/10
Made devastating runs into the box and opened the scoring with a well-timed run. Kept recycling the play with smart passes.
Moises Caicedo-8/10
His 100th game for the club couldn't have gotten any better as he defended with ease and got a goal from a set piece.
Forwards
Estevao-8/10
Came into the lineup ahead of the injured Cole Palmer and made an instant impact. Although he lost the ball for the first goal, his pace and creativity were too much to handle for the Hammers.
Joao Pedro-9/10
The Brazilian scored a lovely first goal with a cushioned header, and then set up the second goal with his lovely chip from the right side. He showed his strength while setting up the fifth goal with a knockdown header.
Pedro Neto-8/10
Was purposeful in all his dribbles and had purpose when he got the ball. Took his goal aplomb.
Liam Delap-6.5/10
Without scoring, he showed his best parts of link-up play. He had the chance to stretch his feet as well, but West Ham's defence had some joy against him.
Substitutions
Andrey Santos-6/10
Reece James-6/10
Wesley Fofana-6/10
Jorrel Hato-6/10
Jamie Gittens-6/10
Manager

His direct approach was spot on as they explored West Ham's open spaces on the pitch. Rotated his side pretty well once the result was sealed.
