Battlefield 6 New Map Contaminated Revealed Ahead of Season 2

The Battlefield 6 new map lineup is expanding in Season 2. That is why Battlefield Studios has officially revealed Contaminated through a community update and Battlefield Labs testing. Behind the scenes, it's already being used in the inner workings of how gameplay systems will be developed before Season 2 comes.

While full details are still under wraps, however, Battlefield 6 Contaminated is going to be a classic combined arms-type Map derived from player feedback and the results of Live Testing. Here's how you can play it before it gets released officially.

Battlefield 6 New Map Contaminated Begins Season 2 Testing

Battlefield 6's new map, Contaminated, is in its testing phase, as part of Season 2's continued development process through Battlefield Labs. According to the development studio, it will test how infantry combat works, how vehicles work with infantry, and how aerial combat interacts with both forms of combat, during actual battles. Developers are paying special attention to cover placement, objective boundaries, and how players move and fight across the terrain.

The overall size of the map is placed between Eastwood and Mirak Valley. In addition, the studio compared the overall layout of the Battlefield 6 Contaminated map with classic ones such as St. Quentin Scar and Arras. This map is composed of mountain ranges with thick foliage covering the landscape, with the presence of numerous bunkers and open areas of combat.

How to Play the Battlefield 6 New Map Contaminated

The Battlefield 6 new map, Contaminated, is not available to play via the Standard Multiplayer Playlist. In order to have early access to this map, players must first apply for Battlefield Labs and await their invitations to participate in the active testing sessions.

Once a player has been accepted into this program, Contaminated will only be available for playtesting during scheduled Labs playtesting sessions. These sessions are limited and usually covered by a non-disclosure agreement, meaning players can test the map but cannot share footage or detailed impressions publicly.

For everyone else, the new Contaminated Map will be available for play when Battlefield 6 Season 2 launches. After that, all players will have access to the new Battlefield 6 map through regular matchmaking, without having to have an active account with Battlefield Labs.
