Summary
The Season 4 action of Battleground Mobile Masters Series concluded on September 14th, 2025. The 24-team month-long tournament crowned a new champion on Sunday night. Unlike many other tournaments, BGMS 2025 was not a short sprint; it was a long, gruelling marathon that tested the patience, perseverance and grit of the best BGMI players in the country. 12 of the 16 finalists played 76 matches in the last four weeks, while the four bounty teams featured in 68 matches. While Team K9 esports emerged as the eventual winners of the competition, one other team that was not too far away from the podium was Gods Reign esports.
Gods Reign esports qualified for the grand finals of BGMS 2025 as one of the bounty teams. Gods Reign finished in third spot after the league stage with 533 points in 56 matches. The team was considered one of the favourites heading into the grand finals. Gods reign was not too far away from the podium and missed it by the margin of a WWCD. God's Reign constantly loomed in the top five rankings, but having faced early eliminations in the last two matches, they eventually finished sixth with 80 points and one WWCD in 12 matches in the BGMS 2025 Grand Finals. Following the award ceremony, team Sportsdunia sat in a conversation with the IGL (In-game Leader) of Gods Reign, GDR Destro, to know his takeaways from this event and future ambitions as the season heads towards PMGC 2025.
Gods Reign Destro Talks BGMS 2025 Takeaways
Gods Reign Destro, aka Ammar Khan, answered some of our questions surrounding BGMS 2025. He talked about his experience at the event and how the Indian BGMI teams have evolved over the years. He also praised the gradual rise in the level of competition, especially as more and more underdog teams turn pro. Here are our questions and their answers from one of the best Indian IGLs in BGMI.
Question: Can you share your insights on your overall experience with BGMS 2025? Additionally, how have you observed the teams evolving compared to previous seasons?
Of course, the competition was very different this year, you can see the points table. There is only a difference between one big game between the top 8 teams. One good game and any of the top 8 teams could have got the first spot. I think teams have evolved, and competition has risen. New teams like SNWY performed exceedingly well on the last day. This also shows, the new points table is unpredictable, a team can emerge on top at any point of time, you just need to win games. I really like this !
Question: God's reign was right there at the podium on the final day. When did you realise it just slipped away?
We didn't do anything wrong; the situations turned out to be opposite, and things didn't turn in our favour. Be it the zones or situations, we also committed a few mistakes. In the end, there is no room for excuses, the teams that won played better than us.
Gods Reign Destro eyes PMGC slot
As many as two PMGC slots will be at stake for the Indian Teams in the upcoming official BMSD (Battlegrounds Mobile Showdown) tournament. Destro has his eyes set on one of those slots as he wishes his desire to represent India at the pinnacle event of BGMI.
Question: The tournament up next is the official BMSD, where PMGC slots will be at stake. Do you reckon BGMS served as a good preparatory event ahead of the official one?
Of course I think we have played more than 70 matches now, 68 matches to be precise. I think that has helped us as a team in so many ways, be it team synergy, co-ordination and everything. This experience will definitely help us in the Showdown. Hopefully we make it through, we win it and make it through to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship and visit Bangkok to represent India.
Question: Every Indian eSports athlete aims to represent the country. Do Indian teams lack anything, whether in terms of mentality or gameplay, while competing against them?
We don't lack anything. We just have not practised against them for such a long period of time that it becomes difficult to adapt quickly. I would say like if you give us 2-3 months again in such lobbies against those players, we will do wonders.
