- Global Tournaments: This is the pinnacle of all the BGMI tournaments. These tournaments are played on both BGMI and its global variant PUBG Mobile (Player's Unknown Battlegrounds). The main global tournaments include BMIC, PMGC and EWC.
- Official Tournaments: These are the BGMI tournaments, which are organised by the game's publishers, Krafton. These tournaments are the gateway to global tournaments and fame. Official BGMI tournaments include: BGIS, BMPS, BMSD and BMIC.
- Third-Party Tournaments: These tournaments are approved by Krafton India. However, they are organised by other gaming and event management entities. A few main unofficial tournaments include BMSD, Sky Esports Championship and India Rising Series.

Global Tournaments

Here is the list of Global BGMI Tournaments that you can join, along with their process:
Battlegrounds Mobile International Cup (BMIC)
This is the only International BGMI tournament. It is played in October every year. It gives two slots to PMGC and has a prize pool of 1 Crore. The top 8 teams from BMSD qualify for this tournament.
This is not an open-for-all tournament. The only way for you to join this tournament is to get hired by one of the participating teams as a player on their roster. You can give tryouts as and when those teams have empty slots.
PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC)
This tournament is played on PUBG Mobile (global version of BGMI). This is not an open-for-all tournament. BMSD winners and the top 2 teams from BMIC qualify for it. Getting hired by one of those is the only way to join PMGC.
PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC)
This is also played on PUBG Mobile (global version of BGMI). This is not an open-for-all tournament. BMPS winners qualify for it. Either winning it as a team or getting hired by winners is the only way to join PMWC.

Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS)
BGIS is the biggest open-for-all tournament in India. This is played between January and March of every year and has a prize pool of between 2 and 4 crores INR. You just need a team of 4 players to join this. You can register your team from the official website of Krafton India Esports.
Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS)
BMPS is not an open-for-all tournament. This is played between May and June every year. The teams get invited based on their performance in BGIS. You can join BMPS by at least qualifying for the BGIS semis or joining a team playing it by giving tryouts.
Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown (BMSD)
BMSD is not an open-for-all tournament. This is played between August and October every year, with a prize pool of 1 Crore INR. You can join it by getting picked for one of the invited teams.

Battlegrounds Mobile Masters Series (BGMS)
BGMS is an invite-only, unofficial tournament played between August and September with a prize pool of 1-2 crore INR. You can join BGMS by only playing for one of the invited T1 teams.
India Rising Series 2026
This is an open-for-all tournament to be played between March and April 2026 with a prize pool of 10 Lakhs INR. You just need a team to join this by registering on the official website of Krafton India Esports.
Skyesports Champions Series
This is an invite-only tournament played in the month of June. However, you can get a slot in it if you win the underdog series hosted by Skyesports. You can register for it on their Discord.
