The BGMI 4.6 update is bringing back one of the most memorable modes. KRAFTON India has confirmed the return of Ocean Odyssey, an underwater-themed mode in the next BGMI update. With submerged locations, special weapons, and new modes of communication, the BGMI Ocean Odyssey mode will offer a nostalgic experience to all old players.

BGMI 4.6 update release date is expected on September 16, 2026, bringing new gameplay elements. However, the Ocean Odyssey mode will be available within two weeks of launch, by September 30, 2026. This water-themed mode will be active until November 16, 2026. So, players have around a fortnight to relive the fights in Ocean Palace and ride on Stingrays. BGMI Ocean Odyssey Mode Overview

Ocean Odyssey introduces changes to Erangel with ocean zones, dangers, and new game mechanics. It was first released as part of the BGMI 3.3 update in 2024. One of the basic features of Ocean Odyssey is Ocean Palace, an ancient structure located underwater and guarded by Sea Suppressor.

When the shield is activated, it provides dry conditions for exploration and combat; once it is deactivated, players have to leave the zone or drown. Players can also get the Kraken while attempting to obtain the Trident, a special weapon that can create powerful waterspouts and launch opponents across the area.

There are Stingrays that help you travel across the map. Other interesting sites include Forsaken Ruins, where high-quality loot can be found. These elements make Ocean Odyssey mode in BGMI an interesting deviation from the classic Erangel experience.
