Players logged in only to find that their hard-earned milestones, which were marked as already claimed, were missing, leaving them without their magic items. As a result, Supercell came under massive scrutiny and backlash as fans demanded immediate fixes. The developers finally responded, announcing a quick fix and hefty compensation.

How the Clash of Clans Hero Journey Rewards Bug Affected Players

The major problem lies in how Supercell evaluates a player's history to unlock retroactive items. Players logged after the Clash of Clans June 2026 Update, expecting a lot of Magic Items, Ores, and other resources, and rare ores based on their historical upgrades.

Instead, the community faced a widespread glitch that caused headaches. The system automatically flagged upcoming reward tiers as completed without actually depositing the loot into user inventories.

This specific Clash of Clans Hero Journey rewards bug occurred with the players being notified that the reward is no longer available for redemption on reaching a new progression level.

Supercell Promised Minimal Compensation With a Fix Coming Early Next Week

Supercell has thankfully acknowledged that the rollout did not go as planned. The devs have identified the issue, and a fix is coming soon, with all the missed Skins, Resources, Ores, and Magic Items will be rewarded to the players who missed them.

Additionally, a one-time compensation will be handed out, consisting of 2000 Shiny Ore, 50 Glowy Ore, and 10 Starry Ores. While this minimal reward hasn't been well-received, players are waiting for the big fix Supercell plans to roll out next week to offer what counts as fair compensation.
