One of the trusted leakers in the Pokémon GO community took to their X (formerly Twitter) to announce the details of the new levelling journey in the game. The information was posted on October 13th, 2025, at 5:38 PM UTC. The Trainer level cap is getting a boost from level 50 to level 80. You'll find some cool new rewards as you level up, like extra storage for your Pokémon, items, gifts, and postcards. Plus, new avatar items are coming your way starting at level 25!

The post also revealed the most important trainer level-related information and updates, along with special rewards you can grab for reaching a specific level. Starting this week, from October 15th, 2025, Pokémon GO trainer level XP requirements have changed. So when the update goes on air, you will get your new trainer level based on the new rebalanced learning curve.

• No one will drop levels, but the XP needed for your next level might change.
