Before you can even start your ranked journey, you need to prove you have a basic understanding of the game. For the PC version, this means reaching a specific Account Level (currently Level 20). The mobile version is expected to have a similar requirement, which ensures new players learn the maps, agents, and basic mechanics in unranked matches first.

In Valorant Mobile, Bronze 3 is considered one of the beginner ranks, while Radiant is the very top rank that only the best players in the world can reach. If you are a Radiant player, it means you’re part of a small group of highly skilled gamers who have mastered the game.

When you first start playing, you’ll need to complete a few placement matches. Based on how well you perform, you’ll be placed somewhere between Iron 1 and Bronze 3.

How Does the Valorant Mobile Rank System Work?

In Valorant Mobile, your progress is measured through Rank Rating (RR), a number that ranges from 0 to 100 within each rank. When you reach 100 RR, you move up to the next division, such as from Silver 2 to Silver 3. If your RR falls below 0, you’ll drop to a lower division instead.

After every match, your RR in the Valorant Mobile rank system changes based on how the game goes. Winning increases your RR, while losing decreases it. The size of your win also matters; like 13–3, gives more RR than a close one, like 13–11. Your individual performance plays a role too in the matches; doing well in kills, assists, and completing objectives helps you gain extra RR. You earn more RR for defeating higher-ranked players, but you can lose more when beaten by lower-ranked ones.

Behind your visible RR is another hidden score called Matchmaking Rating (MMR), which represents your true skill level. If your MMR is higher than your rank, you’ll gain RR faster and lose less when you’re defeated. This system helps create fair matches and ensures that each player’s rank shows their actual skill and improvement over time.
