A new Valorant agent is always a treat for the fans, and Riot Games is looking to shake up the meta even further with Veto - a new Sentinel hailing from Senegal. Veto was first teased on the lead-up to Masters Toronto 2025, and was among the most heavily implied Agents in teasers and lore. Veto will be the 29th playable character in the game, and was named during the Valorant Champions tour grand finals in Paris.

With teleportation tricks, traps, tools for clearing gadgets, and an ultimate that is fueled by the mutation mechanic, Veto is set to infuse a new kind of suppression and control into Valorant's tactical playground. Who is Valorant Agent Veto?

Veto is from Senegal in West Africa, making him the third African Agent following Cypher (Morocco) and Astra (Ghana). Veto is going to be a one-of-a-kind Agent in Valorant as his abilities come from a genetic mutation which breaks the conventional battle rules.

His lore defines him as a “repressive hero”. According to the leaked text, Veto cancels the enemy's planning and technology, forcing only gunplay options.

Veto will enter Valorant as the newest Sentinel - the first Sentinel to join the roster since Vyse in 2024. Riot has referred to him as a defensive disruptor - a foundational Agent with the ability to deny enemy tools, punish overextensions, and turn contested chokepoints into deadly zones of control.

C - Energy Vortex Teleport

Veto can place an energy orb on the ground that allows him to teleport back to that location later.

This gives him mobility options similar to Yoru that allow him to reposition quickly, escape danger, or bait opponents. The orb can even be repositioned during the buy phase for creative setups.

Q - Mutated Slime Fragment

Once thrown, a fragment unfurls into a trap that snags, stuns, and damages any enemies who happen to come in contact with it.

While it can be destroyed, the trap is designed to be used strategically - the possibilities are there, but good placement is crucial. Veto has a kind of crowd control potential here that is very reminiscent of Deadlock's utility - except much worse if enemies get snared.

E – Phage Device

The Phage acts as something you can deploy that will destroy enemy gadgets or abilities that can be shot or destroyed.

It can counter something like a Killjoy turret, Cypher’s trapwires, or even utility like Brimstone’s Molly. With Phage, Veto could change the way teams manage utility-heavy compositions in a way that has not previously been done in Valorant.

X – Fully Mutated Form (Ultimate)

Veto’s ultimate will turn him into a fully mutated state that allows buffs in combat, regeneration, and will grant immunity to negative effects like being flashed, slowed, or decayed.

This is an ability never seen before in Valorant - turning Veto into a nearly unstoppable entity for a limited amount of time.

Veto is supposed to be revealed on October 5, 2025, at Valorant Champions, the grand finals, in Paris. After the reveal, we anticipate he'll release with Patch 11.08 during the launch of the new act, on October 16, skimming into October 17, 2025.
