Amid this, a female fan forcibly grabbed Abhishek Sharma hand, with the player appearing uncomfortable. Videos of the moment have been circulating online, questioning the identity of the girl and the safety of the athlete. However, the name of girl hasn’t reportedly been revealed yet.

Abhishek Sharma’s latest outing came on Saturday, April 25, where he and his team squared off against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. During this game, he scored 57 runs off 29 balls, playing a significant role in his team’s win. Despite the stellar batting of Royal’s Vaibhav Sooryanvanshi, who scored 103 runs off 37 balls, Hyderabad prevailed over them by chasing the 229 target in 18.3 overs.

After his performance in this match, Sharma became the new IPL Orange Cap holder of the tournament, as in eight matches he secured 380 runs at an average of 54.29 and a notable strike rate of 212.29. He surpassed Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Sooryavanshi to claim the cap. On Saturday, first, Kohli had the Orange Cap after his stunning 81 against the Gujarat Titans; however, KL Rahul made his way to the top after his remarkable 152 against the Punjab Kings. Immediately after this, Sooryavanshi replaced him with his century, and ultimately, Abhishek Sharma overtook everyone, claiming the Orange Cap. He is currently the highest run-scorer for SRH in the IPL 2026 season. He has scored one century and three fifties in his current run at the tournament.
