Vaibhav Suryavanshi touch MS Dhoni feet

Rajasthan Royals' teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi won hearts after his team defeated Chennai Super Kings in their final IPL 2025 match. Suryavanshi surprised everybody and touched MS Dhoni's feet soon after the game during the post-match handshakes. His actions were caught on camera as Dhoni congratulated him for his knock.

Suryavanshi was in sublime form and played a blistering knock in this game. The youngster continued his brilliant batting form and ended the season on a high. The fact that this knock came against a team that had MS Dhoni in it makes it even more special for him. As a result, Dhoni appreciated the youngster for his knock as well.

Why Did Vaibhav Suryavanshi Touch MS Dhoni Feet?

After Dhruv Jurel hit CSK fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana for a six over midwicket, the players got involved in the customary handshakes. As MS Dhoni was going back to the dugout, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was among the first to arrive from RR's camp. Seeing his idol in front of him, the youngster didn't forget his Indian traditions and immediately touched Dhoni's feet.

Dhoni smiled as Suryavanshi felt shy while speaking to the legendary cricketer. It was a heartfelt moment for the youngster as he not only played with his favorite cricketers but also scored against them. While Suryavanshi is the youngest player in this IPL, being just 14 years old, Dhoni is the oldest. The former CSK captain is currently 43 but still going strong with every passing year.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Shines With the Bat

It was another terrific evening for Suryavanshi, who once again showed his batting prowess in front of a packed crowd at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. The left-handed opener scored a blistering 57 off just 33 balls, which included 4 fours and 4 sixes. It was not a naturally aggressive knock from Suryanashi, who is used to playing freely.

Instead, he took his time initially and just saw his opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, take on the CSK bowlers. However, Jaiswal was dismissed while trying to play one shot too many. Jaiswal was dismissed for a well-made 36 off just 19 deliveries, which included 5 fours and 2 sixes. His opening partnership with Suryavanshi yielded 37 runs, in which Jaiswal's contribution was a massive 36.

After Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed, Vaibhav Suryavanshi took it upon himself to take the game on. He started playing fearlessly and put the pressure back on the opposition. If Suryavanshi had shown his brilliance against pace in the last few games, it was time to show some brilliance against spin as well. He smashed the veteran Ravindra Jadeja for two sixes in the same over and played the other two spinners with ease. However, he was finally dismissed for 57 while trying to hit R Ashwin out of the park.

RR Finish On A High

On the back of a disciplined bowling effort, Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets with 17 balls to spare. Chennai had earlier scored 187-8 in 20 overs. Royals bowled brilliantly at the death, led by Akash Madhwal, who finished with 3-29 in 4 overs. Madhwal also emerged as the Player of the Match.

The score wasn't going to be enough on a flat surface in Delhi. RR's batters played fearlessly and kept on scoring runs at a brisk pace. After Jaiswal and Suryavanshi, skipper Sanju Samson also contributed with a valuable 41 off 31 balls while Dhruv Jurel smashed an unbeaten 31 off just 12 deliveries. Jurel struck 2 fours and 3 sixes during his whirlwind knock.
