Delhi Capitals player Vipraj​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Nigam, has filed a complaint in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, against a woman named Richa Purohit, accusing her of harassing, blackmailing, and defaming him. Moreover, as per the police statements, Nigam alleged that the woman had been making intimidating calls and sending messages from different foreign numbers since September 2025.

Richa was reportedly forcing him with money demands and threatening to frame him in a fake case if he didn't ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌comply. This incident has drawn significant attention from the cricket experts and fans. If found guilty, this case can hugely impact Vipraj Nigam's career.

Can Vipraj Nigam Be Banned in a Harassment Case?

Whether​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Vipraj Nigam might be suspended or banned in connection with this matter is something that cannot be anticipated. In Indian cricket, bans are possible when a player is found guilty of a breach of the BCCI’s Code of Conduct or is convicted of criminal conduct by a court.
