Ahead of their fixture against Punjab Kings, a young player of Delhi Capitals squad has been hit hard on his face during the net practice.

The player was seen bleeding a lot and an ambulance was called on the field. This is another bad news which has struck to the camp of Delhi Capitals. As per the reports, the player has been seriously impacted. After the incident, the player was seen rushed to a hospital on a stretcher.

The player was seemingly unconscious and it remains to be seen how soon he gets fit. Currently, there is no news on the player's identity, however, it seems like he is a net bowler.

Among the DC injured players list, Mitchell Starc was also ruled out from the squad for a few number of matches due to a shoulder injury. The veteran bowler is expected to return on the field for DC by May 1, 2026.

Delhi Capitals Struggling to Get Going

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season has been a roller-coaster ride for the Delhi Capitals. Amid the absence of Mitchell Starc in the first two games against LSG and MI respectively, the Capitals depicted strong form and performance winning both of the matches.

In the clash against Gujarat Titans, the players gave their best but lost by just 1 run. Following this, Chennai Super Kings, who were struggling in the start, managed to defeat Delhi at their home ground in Chepauk.

RCB, who have been one of the best teams in IPL since the past season, also lost to DC, which once again sparked a confidence in the team. The Capitals have a solid squad this season but are yet to produce their best performance. They have played six matches and have won three out of them, making them sixth in the IPL points table.

The next match against Punjab Kings will be extremely crucial for the Capitals who will be aiming to get back to winning ways. However, it will be a tough ask for them as they face the best team of the season so far.
