Gujarat Titans stepped onto the biggest cricket stadium in the world in new colors to compete against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team swapped their blue jersey for a new lavender kit for the agenda of creating awareness against all forms of cancer.

This notable gesture has now become an annual thing for the Titans, as their goal is to provide support and highlight the fight against all types of cancer. This color is globally recognized as the representative of the collective struggle against the illness.

Taking to their official X account, Gujarat Titans posted a picture of their captain, Shubman Gill, donning the new lavender jersey and penned a caption that read:

Gujarat Titans cancer awareness campaign was started by the team during the 2023 IPL season. They wore the lavender jersey for the first time on May 15, 2023, during their final home game of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They continued the initiative in 2024 and 2025, wearing the lavender jersey on May 13 and May 22, respectively.

During the 2025 season of Indian Premier League, they distributed 30,000 lavender flags and 10,000 lavender jerseys to fans to raise awareness, promote early detection, and show solidarity towards the fighters of the disease. Gujarat Titans lavender jersey against SRH is another way to showcase the support towards this noble gesture.

The use of different jerseys in IPL is not new. Earlier, Rajasthan Royals also wore a pink jersey a few matches ago in IPL 2026 to showcase their support for breast cancer. Even the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru wore a green jersey, although for a different cause. They wore this jersey to promote the planting of more trees.
