Season Of Controversies For Punjab Kings
Yuvraj Singh comment on Harpreet Brar post might seem harsh but it sums up Punjab Kings controversies this season. Apart from their brilliance during the first half of IPL 2026, the Kings have been involved in a no. of social media controversies and eventually bowed out of the tournament by finishing 5th in the IPL points table at the end of the league stage.
Arshdeep Singh's constant vlogging during the team's trips led to massive backlash as he was accused for concentrating more on social media than his bowling performances. Despite being one of the best bowlers in IPL, he had an underwhelming IPL campaign, where he picked up 14 wickets at an average of 38 and an economy rate of more than 10 runs an over.
There was another incident when Punjab's premier spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was seen vaping inside a flight. These issues forced the BCCI to bring out some strict guidelines in order to protect the integrity of the IPL.
