Alex Sarr declared for the NBA draft on 12 April, 2024. He was selected as the second overall pick by the Washington Wizards on draft night. Sarr's draft class included the first overall pick Zaccharie Risacher, and sixth overall pick Tidjane Salaun, making France the first foreign nation to have at least three players picked in the top 10 spots in an NBA draft.
