Cesc Fabregas and Como Earn Promotion Back to the Italian top-flight Football

Cesc Fabregas and Como promoted to Seria A after two decades

The Seria B club Como has earned a promotion back to the country’s top-flight football league Seria A after a huge period of 21 years. The club managed by the former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas last played in Seria A in the year 2003. The club drew their recent league match against Cosenza 1-1, but the results all around were enough to take them to the step of promotion.

The club managed to trip rivals Venezia by a margin of three points in the race for the promotion. The Cesc Fabregas-managed side ended the season on a sum of 73 points, marching ahead of Venezia’s 70-point tally. Apart from them, the league leaders Parma also grabbed a promotion to Seria A having registered 76 points in total to their name and winning the Seria B for the 2023-2024 season.

Como players looked in sheer joy when they found out that they had been promoted to the Seria A after Venezia lost their game against Spezia by a scoreline of 2-1. If Venezia had managed to win that game, considering that Como did draw against Cosenza, then Venezia would have been promoted to the Seria A, instead of Como, as their goal difference stood greater.
