Coventry vs Leeds United Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips | EFL Championship

Coventry vs Leeds United Preview

Coventry vs Leeds United will take place in the EFL Championship at the Coventry Building Society Arena on April 6 as the seventh-placed side will host the team in second.

The hosts will enter this game on the back of a decent run of form. With just two defeats in seven games across competitions, Coventry looked in good shape ahead of their next game. All the other five games resulted in wins for them as they scored 20 goals and conceded eight in that span. Their last outing was a demoralizing 2-1 defeat at Cardiff as two Coventry players ended up scoring own goals. Just four points off the playoff spots, they were not going to give up easy.

The visitors, on the other hand, will enter this game on the back of a similar run of good form. They have lost just once in their last eight games across competitions, winning five times and drawing twice. In that span, Leeds have scored 16 goals and conceded eight as they continue their excellent campaign so far. Their last game was a straightforward 3-1 win over Hull City at home with their forwards doing the job. They were raring to go for the next one.

With that said, let’s take a look at the team news coming out of both camps.

Team News

Coventry

Manager Mark Robins will have a very short injury list to deal with ahead of his team’s next game. Midfielder Tatsuhiro Sakamoto remains the only player sidelined as he recovers from a back injury picked up late in February. He could make a return towards the end of the season.

Elsewhere, Jay Dasilva, Luis Binks, Liam Kitching and Milan van Ewijk have all been booked four times already this season. Should they pick up another, they will be suspended for one match.

Similar to their next opponents, manager Daniel Farke will have a short injury list to navigate ahead of the next game. Long-term absentees Stuart Dallas and Pascal Struijk remain sidelined for Leeds and no immediate return is in sight for the two, meaning they could miss the remainder of the season.

Daniel James and Junior Firpo have both picked up four bookings already and face the risk of suspension should they be booked one more time.

Coventry vs Leeds United Prediction

Both teams have been in decent form of late, indicating this game could be a closely contested fixture. Both teams are looking to overtake teams above them and will have added motivation to achieve their goals. This could result in an exciting game, but Leeds have enough firepower to come out on top and should win this.
