Les Bleus will return to action in the international break on 23rd March as they take on Germany in an international friendly. Manager Didier Deschamps announced the France squad last night and has called 23 men up for the international friendlies. France will first take on Germany and then Chile as the World Cup runners-up prepare for the upcoming Euros 2024 in June. Didier Deschamps will be without veterans Paul Pogba, N’golo Kante, and Raphael Varane and will have to experiment with the France squad to find his best XI for the Euros.

However, Deschamps had to choose from a restricted pot while selecting the France squad due to various injuries to players. Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku recently sustained an injury while playing for Chelsea and will be unavailable. Similarly, winger Kingsley Coman will also remain on the sidelines with an injury.

Meanwhile, Deschamps called up some interesting profiles for the France squad ahead of the friendlies. PSG’s promising young midfielder Warren Zaiire Emery was called up for the ties in the absence of prominent midfielders. He will be joined by Moussa Diaby in the squad who has been fantastic for Aston Villa in attack.

Going forward, Didier Deschamps seems least worried about his attack as he continues to call up his most preferred forwards. Captain Kylian Mbappe and vice-captain Antoine Griezmann will yet again lead the France squad going forward. Meanwhile, France’s all-time top goalscorer, Olivier Giroud, returns with the intention of retaining his spot for the Euros. On the wing, France have the creative outlet of Ousmane Dembele. The attack resembles the 2022 World Cup attack and won’t be a point of concern for Deschamps. He will look forward to combining this lethal attack with a strong midfield and finding the best concoction for his young defense.
