With five games left in the season, Inter Milan had won their 20th Serie A title after a furious 2-1 victory over AC Milan handed Simone Inzaghi’s team an unstoppable lead in the rankings.

Fikayo Tomori scored a late goal to cut the gap in Monday’s Milan derby, but Inter’s victories were assured by goals from Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram in either half.

In stoppage time, there were three more red cards in the match. As emotions increased, Milan was reduced to nine men, and Denzel Dumfries of Inter and Theo Hernandez were sent off.
