Slovenia will kick off its preparation for the UEFA Euro 2024 at their home ground Stožice Stadium with an international friendly against Armenia. Slovenia secured a 2-0 win over Portugal in their last friendly and would like to continue with the same momentum.

Slovenia will aim for a positive outcome on Tuesday against a side that has struggled to qualify for the Euros this summer. They will play two more international friendlies against Armenia and Bulgaria on June 4 and June 8, respectively, before they prepare for their opening Euro matchup against Denmark on June 16. Slovenia’s manager, Matjaz Kek has been tasked with leading the nation past the group stage of this major tournament.

Armenia, meanwhile, are enduring a disastrous run of form as they are struggling for goals. After their recent defeats to Kosovo and the Czech Republic, they were dropped from 94th to 95th in the FIFA rankings.

Team news for Slovenia

Matjaz Kek has named 30 players in his provisional squad for Copa America. He will be forced to cut off four players before submitting the final squad of Euro 2024 by June 7. Benjamin Sesko is the top scorer in the qualification, along with Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, who will be in the squad.

Armenia, on the other hand, is presently led by manager Oleksandr Petrakov and will have most of the squad at his disposal. Ugochukwu Iwu, and Hovhannes Hambardzumyan are expected to be the only absentees from the squad.
