Todd Boehly Hails Chelsea; in awe of “beautiful football” under Mauricio Pochettino

Todd Boehly Hails Chelsea

The American business tycoon Todd Boehly, who is associated with the Premier League club Chelsea in terms of ownership bounds recently stated his views on how the English club has improved by leaps and bounds in their recent few matches under their Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino.

In his interview with ‘Sportico’, Boehly reportedly asserted – “We’ve seen in the last two-and-a-half games at least, the second half of Aston Villa and Tottenham and West Ham, where we played just beautiful football”. He further laid down – “It was so fluid, it was exactly the way we drew it up, we come out at the back and build up and we move up the very pitch very organized”.

On how Poch’s on-field plans and attacking strategies are coming to fruition, the American investor commented – “The number of shots we had on goal, those two-and-a-half games, you can really start to see what we’re working on coming together”. From his statements, a sense of satisfaction towards the recent on-the-pitch performances of the Blues can be inferred.

With Chelsea pushing towards European football after a good run of results lately, the goal will be for Mauricio Pochettino to continue the momentum generated by them in their last few league outings. The Londoners are bound to face stiff competition from Newcastle and Man United in their hopeful angst to finish in a European spot in this season’s table.

It is quite evident that the Stamford Bridge-based club has shown improvements in the way in which they are playing their football. There seems to be a purpose to their game now, which was kind of lacking in the earlier stages of the 2023-2024 campaign. But, one does have to give the benefit of the doubt to Pochettino, in the sense that he deserved the time to get this side gel together and produce a higher level of performance, and maybe now is the time that they really start to fire on all cylinders.

Chelsea’s next Premier League clash will be against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday, May 11. The Nuno Espirito Santo’s team is desperate to do well in the particular fixture to avoid any late relegation scrap. Also, Forest is high on confidence after a 1-3 victory over relegation-bound Sheffield United at Bramel Lane. So, it won’t be an easy fixture for the Blues, but, if Chelsea is eyeing that European qualification, they have to win games like this towards the tail end of the season.
