Ayush Badoni, Priyansh Arya Join Indian Squad Ahead of T20 World Cup 2026

The countdown for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 has begun as the tournament is less than two weeks away from now. The mega event will be played in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8 across different venues.

Ahead of the main tournament, all the teams will be engaged in warm-up games and Indian team will be fielding two sides. The main Indian side will be playing the match against South Africa on February 4, while India A will be seen in action for two games as well.

The India A side is expected to have some of the best batsmen in IPL, and it will also be a great opportunity for all those players to make a mark. Two among those players will be Priyansh Arya and Ayush Badoni.

Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya Set to Play T20 WC Warm Up Matches

As per the report in The Times of India, Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya are all set to be named in the India A squad for World Cup 2026 warm up matches. The duo is currently a part of the Delhi squad for Ranji Trophy 2025-26, but won’t be available for the team’s next fixture against Mumbai.

Delhi, in the absence of Badoni, will be captained by Ayush Doseja against Mumbai in MCA-BKC ground. Ayush Badoni India A selection could be a sign of him being in the national reckoning. Recently, he was selected in the senior team to replace the all-rounder Washington Sundar, who got injured during the first ODI against New Zealand.

The warm-up games will be a great opportunity for Ayush Badoni to showcase his might and make his case strong for an India call-up in T20Is if Sundar is ruled out of the tournament. Not only him, Priyansh Arya India A selection can also be a turning point in his career and he will be keen to grab the opportunity.

India A Squad for Warm Up Match in T20 World Cup 2026 (Probable)

India A will play two warm-up games on February 2 against the USA and on February 6 against Namibia. The squad is yet to be announced but along with Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya, several other young guns are likely to make the cut into the side for India A.

It is expected that Shreyas Iyer, one of the best batsmen in India, could lead the team in the warm-up games with Prabhsimran Singh being the wicket-keeper of the team. Yash Thakur, Gurjapneet Singh, and Vijaykumar Vyshak could be the frontline pacers. Here’s the likely India A squad for warm up matches:
