Three Vice-Captains: This Team Takes a Unique Route in International Cricket

Bangladesh national cricket team have gone a unique way by announcing three different vice-captains for all the formats. It is something that has not quite happened in international cricket but Bangladesh have decided to go this way for the upcoming future.

Recently, Bangladesh haven't quite done well in international cricket in ICC tournaments. However, the team won the first Test against Ireland recently at home. They will be aiming to win the second Test as well, which is beginning from November 19.

Bangladesh Adopts Unique Method in International Cricket

Bangladesh have decided top adopt a new method in international cricket. The BCB has appointed three captains for all the three formats, which has come as a surprise to many. It is to be noted that the team already has three captains for all formats.

The decision to give Bangladesh vice captaincy to three different players shows that the team will not remain the same in all formats. They are likely to have different players for every format.

All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been appointed the vice captain of the Test team which is being led by Najmul Hossain Shanto currently. Shanto, meanwhile, has been chosen as the vice captain of the ODI team, where Miraz is currently the captain. Miraz is one of the best all-rounders in the world and has already led Bangladesh's Under-19 team before.

In the T20I format, Saif Hassan is the vice captain. Litton Das is Bangladesh cricket captain for the shortest format of the game. Saif has been impressive in the recent games that he has played and has already established himself in both T20I and ODI formats. The move is not likely to please the cricket pundits but it remains to be seen whether it gives them the success or backfires.

Bangladesh's Current Series

Currently, Bangladesh cricket team is playing against Ireland in a Test series which they are leading 1-0. The second Test will be played from November 19 with Bangladesh aiming for a clean sweep. The home team won the first match of the series by an innings margin and will be confident to win the next match as well.

After the Tests, both sides will face each other in a three-match T20I series as well. Ireland will feel they have a better chance in this format given Bangladesh's poor T20 form recently. They lost a T20I series at home recently to West Indies on a pitch that came under a lot of scrutiny.
