Hardik Pandya Injury Update

After the Asia Cup 2025, which the Indian Cricket Team won, the next white-ball assignment for the Men in Blue will be the Australia tour. The Indian side will be playing a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series down under.

India’s tour of Australia will begin with a three-match ODI series, to be played from 19th to 25th October. After that, it will be time for the T20Is, slated to be played from 29th October to 8th November. This will be an ideal preparation for both teams for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026, where the best cricket teams in the world will compete.

Hardik Pandya to Miss Australia Series

With the Australia tour around the corner, the Indian Cricket Team has suffered a massive blow. As per the reports, Hardik Pandya, the best all-rounder in India, is all set to miss the three-match ODI series. Also, it is learned that he is doubtful for the five-match T20I series. He will be missing the Australia tour due to the left quadriceps injury he suffered during the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025. During the game against Sri Lanka, which was the last game of the Super Four stage of the tournament, he faced an injury.

Hardik Pandya went off the field after bowling just one over, which was the first of the second innings. He didn’t return to the field, and his injury was much worse than expected as he went on to miss the final against Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium. His absence was pretty much felt as India lacked a quality fast bowler alongside Jasprit Bumrah. Also with the bat, India struggled in the chase. But Tilak Varma, who played a magical innings of 69, India won the game by game by five wickets and lifted their ninth title.

Hardik Pandya Advised At Least 4 Weeks of Rest - Reports

The reports claimed that Hardik Pandya has been advised at least 4 weeks of rest. There is no chance that he will get fit by the time ODIs start. Also, there is a concern over his availability for the T20Is, which will begin a few days after the ODIs. Hardik’s absence from the ODIs will be a big blow as it will disrupt the balance of the side.

This has been the case over the years as well, and happened in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, when India lost the final. With Hardik Pandya missing, it will be a massive headache for the Indian Cricket Team management. In his absence, there are chances that either Shivam Dube or Riyan Parag might get an opportunity in the team for the ODIs.

Rohit Sharma Expected to Lead India in ODIs Against Australia

Rohit Sharma is all set to lead India in the ODIs against Australia. The senior opener last played for the side in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where he helped India win the tournament. He was also the Player of the Match in the final as he played an innings of 76. Rohit Sharma, who has retired from tests and T20Is, will be keen to make a mark in the series. He last played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for the Mumbai Indians, where he slammed 418 runs.
