Indian-Origin Cricketers From Australia Go Missing In Nepal Floods

The Nepal floods have led to immense devastation in the Himalayan nation. While the people in the Nepal-Tibet border have been affected the most, there are two club-level cricketers who are currently missing out.

These players might not be playing internationals but were talented club cricketers. Interestingly, both the cricketers affected by Nepal floods were of Indian origin and were on the trip for the sacred Hindu pilgrimage.

Who Are the Australian Cricketers Missing in Nepal Floods?

The two Australian cricketers who are missing in Nepal floods are Rishab Iyer and Rudhra Iyer. Both these youngsters were members of the West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook Cricket Club, one of the most awarded and oldest clubs in Australia.

The club's operations director Ross Anderson confirmed that Rishab and Rudhra, aged 23 and 20 respectively, were members of their club and hoped that they will come home safely along with their parents.

Along with Rishab Iyer and Rudhra Iyer, their parents were also on this trip. Their father and mother, Sreedharan and Lakshmi, are also missing with rescue operations in full swing.

The Nepal floods have wreaked havoc all across the country with 469 people already declared dead. With more than 1400 missing in the disaster zone, the death toll is likely to rise even more in the upcoming days.

Nepal Cricketers Message On Flood

Nepal cricketers have urged their country's citizens to stay safe during these tough times. All-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee, who is one of the most dangerous batsmen in the world, shared a message on Instagram in which he expressed his sad feelings on this disaster.

Dipendra Singh Airee appealed the people living near the Trishuli river to stay alert and safe. Meanwhile, Nepal captain Sandeep Lamichhane also put out an Instagram story in which he asked people to help each other and stay away from rivers.

These are amongst the richest cricketers in Nepal and are helping their country's citizens in every way possible. Apart from it, the Nepal A players also wore black armbands during the Top End T20 Series match against Hobart Hurricanes Academy on July 27 to pay tribute to the flood victims.
