irani cup schedule

The complete schedule for the 2025–26 domestic season has been made public by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It includes both significant format and structural changes as well as traditional competitions like the Duleep Trophy, Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and Vijay Hazare Trophy. In 1960, the Irani Trophy was first held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Ranji Trophy. Later, the BCCI renamed the Irani Trophy in honour of Zal R. Irani, who had long been its president.

Irani Cup, which pits the winners of the Ranji Trophy against the rest of India, will run from October 1 to October 5. Nagpur will host this year's competition. Fans across India will get the opportunity to see one of the most important domestic red-ball cricket matches in India when the planned match takes place in Nagpur.

India's current Ranji Trophy champions, Vidarbha, will play the Rest of India in Nagpur on October 1st in the 2025 Irani Cup. Ahead of the match, Vidarbha will look to win the trophy again for the third time in their history.

Meanwhile, the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur, which was established in 2008, will host the final of the Irani Cup 2025. Irani Cup Squads 2025

As the stage is getting ready for the Irani Cup 2025, Vidarbha will look to have a strong team to win the trophy again. Their star player, Karun Nair, who helped them win the Ranji Trophy, will be unavailable for them as he has moved to Karnataka. Key players from that championship campaign are anticipated to be included in their team, which will represent a well-rounded group based on depth and consistency.

Based on exceptional results in last year's Ranji Trophy, the Rest of India squad will be chosen. It includes players from all the teams except the Ranji Trophy winners. Hence, it contains some of the best batsmen in India. Players are usually selected by the BCCI based on their versatility, fitness, and current form.
