Irani Cup 2025: Check Full Schedule, Squads & Other Details

The complete schedule for the 2025–26 domestic season has been made public by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It includes both significant format and structural changes as well as traditional competitions like the Duleep Trophy, Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and Vijay Hazare Trophy. In 1960, the Irani Trophy was first held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Ranji Trophy. Later, the BCCI renamed the Irani Trophy in honour of Zal R. Irani, who had long been its president.

Irani Cup, which pits the winners of the Ranji Trophy against the rest of India, will run from October 1 to October 5. Nagpur will host this year's competition. India's current Ranji Trophy champions, Vidarbha, will play the Rest of India in Nagpur on October 1st in the 2025 Irani Cup. The reigning champion Rest of India has won the championship the most (30 times) since its inception during the 1959–60 domestic season, followed by Mumbai with 14 wins. Whereas the current Ranji Trophy winners, Vidarbha, has won the Irani Cup twice. Their first title came in 2017/18, which was followed by 2018/19. Ahead of the match, Vidarbha will look to win the trophy again for the third time in their history.
