Jasprit Bumrah Set to Join New Team After India's Asia Cup Win

Indian Cricket Team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah played a key role in his team winning the Asia Cup 2025. Although the fast bowler wasn’t at his best with the ball during the tournament, he stood tall in crunch situations and helped his team lift their ninth Asia Cup title.

Jasprit Bumrah Asia Cup final performance was a decent one. He bowled some tough lines and lengths in powerplay and oozed his class in death overs as well. The best fast bowler in the world picked up two wickets in the end, removing Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz.

The wicket of Haris Rauf was even more special as he mimicked the pacer’s jet crash celebration after removing him. Bumrah returned with the figures of 2/25 in his four overs as India bundled out Pakistan for just 146 runs.

The chase saw Pakistan Cricket at its best in the first few overs. Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf removed the top three in a flash as India was left at 20/3. However, after that, Tilak Varma played one of the best innings of his career and put Pakistan under pressure.

Tilak Varma (69*) slammed a vital half-century, while Sanju Samson (24) and Shivam Dube (33) supported him. Thanks to their brilliant effort, India completed a brilliant five-wicket win and won the Asia Cup 2025 without losing a single game. Jasprit Bumrah New Team: India Fast Bowler Drops Bombshell

Jasprit Bumrah didn’t play all seven games in the Asia Cup 2025. He played five matches and bagged seven wickets in the tournament. It was well below his standards but he would be keen to make a strong comeback in the next assignments. Ahead of that, the Indian pacer has announced a major development related to his career. Taking to his Instagram account, he mentioned that he will be joining the third blue in his career.

“YES, THE RUMOURS ARE TRUE! I AM JOINING MY 3RD BLUE TEAM. REVEALING TOMORROW,” he said.

The story could well be a hint that he will be linking up with some firm. It was more hinted at as an “Ad” and it remains to be seen which third blue teams he joins. Notably, the other two blue teams are the Indian national cricket team and the Mumbai Indians (MI).

Jasprit Bumrah's Next International Assignment

Bumrah will be next seen in action when India take on the West Indies in the two-match Test series at home. He recently confirmed his availability to the selectors and was named in the team for both games. The series will be part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27.

The Test series will begin on October 2nd at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad, one of the biggest cricket stadiums in the world. After that, the next match of the series will be played on 10th October at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. With his workload being a concern, he is expected to play one game in the series.

Bumrah last played for India in Tests during the England series. He played only three games in that series. Currently, he is the number one-ranked pacer in tests.
