Joe Root is nearing his century in the 3rd Test match between India and England at Lord's, London. After consecutive flop shows in the last two matches, Root has finally shown up for his team. From every cricket fan's perspective, the game has just gotten interesting. It's like a classic Test match in England, where the batters are making the visitors struggle.

This time, Root is getting the perfect support from captain Ben Stokes from the other end. Both the batters have stuck around, formed a 71-run partnership, and are looking well-settled. What's missing then? Well, the Bazball approach. Unlike other matches, England have scored just 243 runs in 80 overs at the loss of four wickets. This means that they are playing slowly, torturing the Indian bowlers.

But does that stop Mohammed Siraj from sledging Root? No. He loves to make it intense. While the right-arm pacer must be missing his sledge buddy Virat Kohli on the ground, that didn't stop him from throwing some nasty words at Root during the ongoing match.

“Where's the Bazball?": Mohammed Siraj Sledge Joe Root

In today's game, the English batters did look in a hurry to hit a few boundaries after lunch, but the runs didn't come easily for them. Since they had already lost two wickets, Root decided to take the game slowly along with Ollie Pope. But in the 31st over of the IND vs ENG Lord's Test, the chirpy Siraj came to bowl.

Mohammed Siraj sledged Joe Root when the latter wanted to play a shot, but the outside edge of the ball stopped it from crossing the 30-yard circle. After that delivery, Siraj went near the batter only to mock him about Bazball. "Baz, Baz, Bazball. Now Play Bazball. I want to see,” said Siraj, mocking Joe Root.

Root, who is known for his calm demeanour, didn't say anything in return to the bowler. However, in return, he is almost nearing his century. As we write, he is batting on 96 runs off 187 balls, along with Stokes, who is on 39 runs off 100 balls. As the day is about to end, the batters have stuck around, making sure to put on some decent runs on the board without losing many wickets.

Tough Day For India Bowlers

India's two best bowlers, who helped their team win the previous Test match against England, remained wicketless on day one of the 3rd Test match. While Akash Deep bowled 17 overs and conceded 75 runs, Siraj bowled for 13 overs and conceded just 33 runs. It was an important day for both teams, but the Indian bowlers failed to take wickets, which was quite disappointing.

Nitish Kumar Reddy dismissed the openers in the 14th over, while Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja claimed one wicket each. As the day ended, England had lost just four wickets. Day two will be super important for Indian bowlers to prevent the batters from putting up a huge total on the board.

The way England are going, they still have Jamie Smith to bat next, who was a centurion in the previous match. So if these three batters stick around for a longer time, there's a high chance of England going past the 400-run mark, which will be a par score on the Lord's pitch.
