Former Indian pacer Salil Ankola has reportedly been admitted to a mental health centre near Pune while dealing with serious depression. As per reports shared by his wife, he has found it extremely difficult to cope after losing his mother in 2024, and the grief has deeply affected his emotional state.

He represented the Indian national cricket team between 1989 and 1997, featuring in one Test match and 20 One Day Internationals, during which he claimed 15 wickets overall. His time in cricket was cut short by a tumour in his chin, after which he shifted his focus to the entertainment industry and built a career as an actor.

Former Mumbai cricketer and actor Salil Ankola is reportedly receiving care at a mental wellness and rehabilitation facility after facing a difficult phase of depression linked to the loss of his mother, Mala Ankola. As per a report from TOI, Ankola has been emotionally affected since the death of his 77-year-old mother in October 2024.
