Sanju Samson Credits Sachin Tendulkar for T20 WC Turnaround

India have defeated New Zealand to win the third title in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup. While playing the T20 World Cup 2026 final in Ahmedabad, the Men in Blue went on to put 255 runs on the board.

India's star opener Sanju Samson came back into the playing XI against Zimbabwe and scored 26 runs. But, after that game, he has scored three consecutive half-centuries in the tournament. He scored 321 runs in five innings, at an average of 80.50. After winning the Player of the Match award, he went to express his gratitude towards legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for being in touch with him and giving him valuable guidance.

In the IND vs NZ T20 World Cup game, Samson scored 89 off 46 balls, including five boundaries and eight sixes. He started attacking the New Zealand bowlers despite losing Abhishek Sharma in the eighth over. They put a 98-run partnership before the left-handed batter was dismissed for 52 runs.
