Who will Play Semi-Final Against India A in Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025?

The young India A team, filled with emerging stars, has qualified for the Asia Cup Rising Stars semi-finals and will play the match on November 22. They started their campaign by winning the first match against the UAE by a huge margin of 148 runs. Surprisingly, the Jitesh Sharma-led team lost against Pakistan in the second game. A total batting failure followed by a bowling disaster marked the summary of the game. Despite being in a do-or-die situation, they showed full confidence and won the last match against Oman, and thus, qualified for the India A semi finals.

They will play in the first semi-final on November 21 and were waiting for another team from the other group to join them. As per the tournament structure, two teams will qualify for the semi-finals, in which the top team from Group A will meet the second team from Group B and vice versa. Since India A has occupied the second position in Group B, they'll play against the top team of Group A, which is Bangladesh A.

The equation in Group A was quite simple and sorted as Bangladesh A were leading the points table with two wins and an extremely high NRR. The real fight was between Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A. While the Lankan Lions had a good NRR, the last match with Bangladesh was a virtual knockout game because they had lost a game earlier. Meanwhile, Afghanistan had won two out of three games, but their NRR was worse.

Interestingly, the scenarios became much clearer when Sri Lanka A beat Bangladesh A in the final group stage encounter and qualified for the semi-finals because of their NRR. Despite losing against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh retained its top position. After the end of the group stage games, India A vs BAN A will take place on November 21 in Doha. Moreover, the other semifinals will also happen on the same date, but in the evening. Pakistan A will clash against Sri Lanka A in Doha.
