India's teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi registered another record to his name at an early age. The left-handed opener became the youngest cricketer to score a century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

It was not a typical Suryavanshi kind of a knock as he took his time during this innings. However, he played a captain's knock to help his team put up a strong total on the board. Suryavanshi reached his century off 59 balls and lit up the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Suryavanshi came in to bat while opening the batting alongside the wicketkeeper Bipin Saurabh. Bihar lost two early wickets but Suryavanshi held on to one end and kept on batting till the last ball of the innings. He took his time early on but didn't panic.

As the innings went forward, Vaibhav Suryavanshi started attacking the bowlers. It was a matured knock from the youngster who showed immense growth. He remained not out on 108 off just 61 balls with 7 fours and as many sixes. Vaibhav Suryavanshi record-breaking knock ensured that he is now the youngest player to score a hundred in the history of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

This Vaibhav Suryavanshi century was different in the sense that Vaibhav is known as one of the most dangerous batsmen in the world. However, he played according to the situation and showed that he has different gears in his batting as well. Middle order batter Ayush Loharuka scored 25 off 17 balls to give Suryavanshi a good support at the other end.

Maharashtra Chase Down the Score

Bihar scored 176-3 in their 20 overs. In reply, Maharashtra chased down the target in the last over of the match with three wickets in hand. Opener and captain Prithvi Shaw struck 66 off 30 balls at the top to give his team a flying start. Shaw has been in terrific form this season and showed why he is among the best batsmen in India at the moment.

He got good support from Niraj Joshi, Ranjeet Nikam, and Nikhil Naik as Maharashtra chased down the score comfortably in the end. The defeat has worsened Bihar's position in this Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy season who have now lost all their four matches and are at the bottom of the points table.
