Soon after his wicket, Root followed him to the pavilion on 104 runs. Then Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse (56) formed an 84-run partnership, helping England reach 387 runs. But Bumrah went on to dismiss the rest of the batters, while Siraj took care of these two.

When the Indian batters came to bat, Yashasvi Jaiswal started the innings in his own style. He hit three boundaries and was batting on 13 runs when Jofra Archer dismissed him.
