Where to Watch IND vs SA 1st Test Live

India will take on South Africa in the first Test match, starting from November 14 in Kolkata, Eden Gardens. The two-match Test series is a part of the World Test Championship (WTC) cycle, and since South Africa won the finals in June 2025, they are the defending champions. Moreover, this will be an important series for both teams as the winning team can move up the WTC points table.

Despite India playing on their home turf, beating the Proteas might be a tough job for them, considering the kind of balanced team they have for these conditions. In the past few months, South Africa have dominated cricket in all three formats against England, Australia, and Pakistan, making them a dangerous side at this point.

Overall, this Test series will be quite interesting to watch since the fans will get to see their favorite players performing in red-ball cricket. India will be led by Shubman Gill, who is considered as one of the best batsmen in the world. On the other hand, Temba Bavuma will lead South Africa.

What will be India's Team Combination?

India had a dilemma of picking one keeper-batter between Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel. However, in the pre-match press conference, India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate hinted that both Pant and Jurel might be seen in the upcoming Test match. The management is likely to go with Jurel and leave out the pace-bowling all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy.

“I would be very surprised if you don’t see Dhruv and Rishabh playing in this Test this week,” Ryan ten Doeschate said in the pre-match press conference.

Jurel has been outstanding, producing scores of 140, 56, 125, 44, 132*, and 127* across five matches, including Ranji Trophy, Test, and India ‘A’ fixtures. He has proven his credentials as one of the best wicketkeepers in India. Hence, leaving him out in his best form is not something the Indian management would want to do.

Apart from this, the rest of the team might remain the same. Rishabh Pant is all set to make his comeback after recovering from an injury. He is also the vice-captain of the team. With South Africa's pace attack and India's spin wizards, it will be intriguing to see which side the match would turn.
