Who Is Shreyas Iyer’s Fangirl Who Went Viral After Crying During IND vs WI 3rd T20I?

Team India won the third T20I match of the West Indies T20I series by a margin of 14 runs. Abhishek Sharma impressed once again with 69 runs off just 30 balls, but what caught everyone's attention was an emotional moment in the stands. Cameras captured a girl crying after captain Shreyas Iyer's early dismissal at Indore's Holkar Stadium.

Shreyas Iyer's dismissal came during India's innings when he was trapped LBW by West Indies all-rounder Roston Chase. The Indian batter managed to score only 1 run off 2 deliveries, ending his brief stay at the crease much earlier than his fans had expected.

Who is Shreyas Iyer Fangirl?

The moment quickly went viral on social media, with fans then discussing her reaction and calling her ‘Shreyas Iyer fangirl’. However, Shreyas Iyer fangirl name remains undisclosed in the available reports.

Iyer, who had impressed earlier with a match-winning century in the series opener, was sent back to the pavilion after scoring just one run, which left many fans and supporters disappointed. The viral clip, thus, gave a glimpse of the emotional connection fans have developed for their favourite cricketers. Iyer, being one of the most famous cricketers in the world, has also developed a huge fan following.

Shortly after his wicket, the broadcast cameras turned towards the crowd and captured a girl visibly upset and wiping tears from her face. The footage circulated widely online, prompting mixed reactions from cricket fans who sympathised with her disappointment, while others questioned her reaction, arguing that it was unnecessary.

Shreyas Iyer's Scintillating Century in First T20I

The fan's reaction was justified, considering Shreyas Iyer's commendable knock of 102 runs off just 43 balls in the first match, which featured 10 fours and 6 sixes, establishing the batter as one of the major contributors to that eight-wicket win.

Despite his brief innings, India went on to win the third T20I, but the early dismissal came as a surprise after the memorable performance in the opener. Although the match featured plenty of action, like Arshdeep Singh taking three wickets, Abhishek Sharma's 69 or Ishan Kishan's 37, the unidentified fan became a talking point as India took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
