The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to host the annual Naman Awards on March 15, 2026. The award function is scheduled in Delhi, where some of the best Indian cricketers will be present.

However, India's premier spin bowler in white-ball formats, Kuldeep Yadav, will not attend the BCCI award ceremony on Sunday. The ceremony honors the best in Indian cricket and also gives the lifetime achievement award to the legendary cricketers.

Why Kuldeep Yadav Will Not Attend BCCI Naman Awards?

Kuldeep Yadav is arguably one of the best spinners in the world at the moment. He has been a key part of India's white-ball teams over the last few years. However, he is all set to miss the BCCI Naman awards 2026. The cricketer is all set to get married on March 14 and as a result, he won't be able to attend the awards.

Engaged with childhood friend Vanshika Chadha, on June 4, 2025, Kuldeep postponed his wedding due to the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup. Now that the marquee event is over and the IPL is coming up, he is tying the knot tomorrow in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. Later, the reception will be held on March 17, 2026 in Lucknow.

The couple kept their relationship private before the engagement. For the wedding ceremony, fans are anticipating the presence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and all other star players to gather.

Kuldeep Yadav BCCI Awards 2026 absence won't have much impact on the event. The left-arm wrist-spinner wasn't particularly active in the year except during the 2025 Champions Trophy, where he played a key role in India's title win.

Rahul Dravid, Shubman Gill to Receive Awards on March 15

While Kuldeep Yadav Naman Award absence is confirmed, India's legendary cricketer and former head coach, Rahul Dravid is all set to receive the prestigious Col. CK Naidu Lifetime Achievement Award. Meanwhile, India's current Test captain Shubman Gill has been named the Men's Cricketer of the Year for 2025.

Dravid, known as The Wall, is a GOAT of cricket and has served India both as a player and a coach. India won the T20 World Cup 2024 with him as the coach. Meanwhile, Gill performed brilliantly in England during the Test series and played some good innings in ODIs as well. He will receive the Polly Umrigar Award for best International Cricketer. He scored 1746 runs at an average of 49 in this season.
