The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is returning after two years and will be held in India and Sri Lanka this time. Along with the hosts, 18 other teams will participate in the month-long tournament, starting on February 7. The final will be played on March 8 in Ahmedabad. The 20 teams are announcing their squads gradually as the deadline is January 31.

Similarly, Pakistan too have to announce their squad for the marquee event before the deadline. Reports suggest that, one of the best Pakistani bowlers, Haris Rauf, is all set to be dropped from the upcoming mega ICC event.

Will Haris Rauf Play T20 World Cup 2026?

Haris Rauf played his last T20 match for Pakistan back in the finals of one of the most reputed multination tournaments, the Asia Cup 2025, in September. It wasn't one of his best performances as he conceded more than 50 runs. Reports suggest that Pakistan coach Mike Hesson has sidelined the bowler from the upcoming marquee event because of his poor performance in the Asia Cup final.

Pakistan are eyeing other young and skilled bowlers who can take his place and is closely monitoring them ahead of the squad announcement. As per reports, the selectors are interested in going with the players who have been a part of the team throughout the year.

The Pakistan squad for T20 World Cup 2026 hasn't been announced yet. With the deadline coming up in less than two weeks, the selectors will have to come up with a 15-member squad. Haris Rauf T20 World Cup snub might hamper the team's bowling attack as the player is in great form. He is currently busy playing in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL), where he has picked up 18 scalps in 10 games; however, it will be interesting to see if the selectors consider him for the T20 World Cup squad or not.
