The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi was in the headlines a few days back during the Women's Asia Cup final when India refused to receive the trophy from him.

Few days later after the India Women Asia Cup trophy controversy, Naqvi might make the hot topic once again. The Asian Games women's cricket gold medal match is set to be played between India and Sri Lanka and there remains a possibility of Naqvi attending the Asian games medal ceremony.

Alongside being the PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi is also the ACC president, which increases his chances of attending and presenting the Asian Games women's cricket medal ceremony to be held on September 22. If this happens, it can be a big problem for the BCCI and the Indian team.

Will Mohsin Naqvi Attend IND-W vs SL-W Asian Games Gold Medal Match?

Currently, it is not official whether Mohsin Naqvi will attend the IND-W vs SL-W Asian Games gold medal match. However, there remains a small possibility of him presenting the medals after the game.

The chief guest at the medal ceremony is usually invited by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has no role in it. However, the Aichi-Nagoya organising committee (AINAGOC) can also have an impact on it.

According to the reports, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has already expressed its concerns over any Pakistani official to be present at the medal ceremonies, where any team from India is to be awarded.

When the ACC was asked about the issue, an official responded by saying that Mohsin Naqvi Asian Games gold medal match presence is unlikely to happen as India is playing a cricket match against Japan and the latter will not forget this gesture from one of the best cricket teams in the world.

"That is my reading. I think Japan will not allow it. India's gesture of playing Japan will not go unacknowledged," an ACC member was quoted as saying by Yahoo Sports.

When Will Asian Games Gold Medal Match Start?

The IND-W vs SL-W gold medal match will start from 10:30 AM IST on September 22. Both India and Sri Lanka have been brilliant throughout the competition, having played some excellent cricket so far.

India will be the favorites to win the gold as they are amongst the best women's cricket teams in the world. However, Sri Lanka have previously defeated India in big fixtures and will be looking to turn the tables around at Nisshin.
