The Indian cricket team scripted history in Ahmedabad as they registered their second straight T20 World Cup win. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side beat New Zealand in the final of the 2026 edition at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, March 8.

India, who were favourites to win the T20 World Cup, lived up to the expectations and played a magical brand of cricket throughout the tournament. Although, there were a few hiccups as well, they negotiated that well and went on to lift the title.

With India winning their second straight ICC T20 World Cup, they broke quite a few records, becoming the first-ever team to win back-to-back titles. Not only this, they also became the first team to win the T20 World Cup title at home.

India registered a brilliant win at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the biggest cricket stadium in the world, where they faced heartbreak in 2023. The tears turned into joy as under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, they won the title. But now the question remains about Team India meeting Narendra Modi.

After winning the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados, India, led by Rohit Sharma, landed directly in Delhi and went to meet PM Narendra Modi. Even when Indian Women’s team won the World Cup 2025, they went to Delhi to meet the PM at his residence.

Based on the patterns, there are chances that India team might go to Delhi and meet PM Modi. Although there is no official confirmation about Narendra Modi meeting with Team India, an update in this regard is likely to come soon.

As India won, PM Narendra Modi was among the first to wish India. PM Modi tweet on India win quickly went viral as he congratulated the team on the excellent performance. Taking to his Twitter account, he said:

This victory has filled every Indian heart with pride and joy. Well done, Team India!”

In a high-profile IND vs NZ T20 World Cup final, India came up with a dominating show and defeated New Zealand by a massive margin of 96 runs to lift the trophy at home. Put into bat, they posted a gigantic total of 255 runs on the back of half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma (52), Sanju Samson (89) and Ishan Kishan (54).

Then with the ball, Jasprit Bumrah oozed his class and showed why he is the best bowler in the world right now. He picked up 4-15 in four overs, and thanks to his heroics with the ball, India ended New Zealand’s innings on 159 and won the game by a massive margin of 96 runs.
