Team Information
According to the league’s vision for 2027, there is an intention to bring in teams from outside the Caribbean region and gradually transform the WCPL into an international franchise competition with global participation.
Barbados Royals enter the season as the most successful team in the competition after securing three consecutive titles between 2023 and 2025. Meanwhile, Trinbago Knight Riders remain the only other team to lift the trophy, having claimed the championship in the tournament’s opening season in 2022.

Jamaica Empress Women Owners
Businessman Fawad Sarwar owns Jamaica Empress through his sports investment company, Kingsmen Sports Enterprise (KSE), which operates under the wider FKS Group. The franchise became part of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) ahead of the 2026 season as the tournament expanded from three teams to four.
Sarwar’s group had already entered Caribbean cricket after securing control of Jamaica’s men’s CPL franchise, and also Hyderabad Kingsmen in the Pakistan Super League. The launch of Jamaica Empress extended that investment into women’s cricket as well.
