A few weeks ago, EA Sports promised to bring FC Mobile Game Plans to elevate everyone's gameplay experience. The major update has finally arrived, and gamers can add a new strategic layer during their live matches. The already-existing mentality option has been expanded, and players can combine it with available formations to put additional pressure on their opponents. FC Mobile devs have provided a brief explanation of Game Plans in FC Mobile in a recent deep dive. Let's take a look at the approach to what changes have been made and how you can utilise it in-game.

How Do Players Use a Game Plan in FC Mobile?

FC Mobile Game Plans are a new tactical approach which provides certain flexibility during live matches. In simple terms, it grants you the option to change Mentality and Formation mid-match. It all comes down to how gamers approach the game and decide what's suitable for them. They can either go Ultra Attacking mode to score that last-minute winner, or Ultra Defensive to maintain their lead. And here's how to use FC Mobile 27 Game Plans in-game:

Before Match

All you have to do is preset some formations and mentality based on different scenarios. You must utilise your Football IQ to be ready for every possible scenario. Now, here's the approach:

  • Go to the My Team Section.
  • Select your Club.
  • Tap on the Game Plans option.
  • Customise the formation and the mentality you want to use during that scenario. We recommend that you fill all four slots for different scenarios.

During Match

Once you've selected all the necessary formations and mentality towards it, it's a cakewalk from here. You can apply these presets during matches through a drop-down menu at the top right. Tap on the specific option and wait till the virtual players get accustomed to the new setup.

How To Choose the Ideal Mentality

As mentioned, you must select these new mentalities carefully based on all possible scenarios. Here are a few tips on how you can choose the best Game Plans in FC Mobile:

  • Keep a Balanced approach for versatility at the start of the match. Read your opponent before making a move.
  • Take an Attacking approach to score goals and put pressure on the opponent's final third. Go for the Defending setup to keep your lead.
  • Instead of exploiting the mentality function, it's better to save these for the key moments. Apply these settings during the closing moments or in the second half to break the opponent's momentum.
  • Much like in real life, you must wait for some time and let the virtual players adjust to the applied function. And that's one of the key moments where you have to keep your calm.

What Are The Changes Happen On The Pitch

There are a couple of parameters that change when gamers apply a specific mentality to their online team. Therefore, these are the areas where gamers will witness the major changes:

  • Team Commitment and Risk: Attacking aspects push more players forward, while defensive ones force a major chunk to stay at the backline. Basically, everything comes with a trade-off.
  • Pressing: With an Attacking mentality, players will press more so that the opponent loses possession faster. Meanwhile, defensive will let them maintain a specific formation.
  • Defensive Baseline: An attacking mentality will automatically place your defence line way higher in the pitch. Defensive mentality, on the other hand, allows everyone to drop deep in their own final third.
  • Attacking Runs: The name itself is self-explanatory. A defensive approach will put lesser number of players during the attack transition.
  • Team Width: An attacking mentality will make your team wider, but defensive will make it narrow.

All Five Mentalities in the FC Mobile Game Plan

As mentioned, a total of five mentalities (two new ones) have been added as part of the FC Mobile Game Plans. Here's an explanation for each one:

Ultra Attacking

  • This mentality is urgent to get a goal or get ahead of your opponents on the scoresheet. The best time is during the last 10-20 minutes of the match.
  • The team pushes higher on the pitch and forms the widest formation. The maximum number of players make forward runs, and defence maintains a high line.
  • Since gamers will have the number advantage in the opponent's final third, the chance of scoring goals is higher.
  • Since the defenders maintain a high line, it creates larger spaces behind the backline. The opponent might utilise long and through balls as a counter.

Attacking

  • Unlike Ultra Attacking, this mentality provides constant pressure and creates almost the same number of chances. The only drawback, however, is that not many players will join in the build-up.
  • The defence line will maintain a moderately high line. A decent number of players will join the attacking turns.
  • It's suitable for quicker build-ups. Instead of committing a lot of players, it allows your team to put clear options in the opponent's final third area.
  • Since there will still be spaces behind the backline, the opponent will opt for counter-attacks and capitalise on your mistakes.

Balanced

  • This is the most flexible approach you can opt for. The best time to utilise it is at the start of each online match. It'll allow you to read the opponent right off the bat.
  • The team doesn't commit to an attacking or defensive approach. They maintain a middle ground. Players with great work rates and physicality are the best option.
  • This mentality offers much more stable possession and versatility to orchestrate the game plan accordingly.
  • It neither puts any extra attacking pressure nor puts an extra layer of protection in the defensive half.

Defensive

  • The defensive mentality is best to protect a one- or two-goal lead. It also cuts down the potential attacking lanes of the opponent.
  • Most of the players stay deep in the defensive line and maintain a compact shape. With more numbers in the self final third, there are way fewer options to score goals for the opponent.
  • Since this mentality keeps a stronger defensive shape, it's hard for the opponent to dominate the central area.
  • The only drawback is that you'll have fewer forwards, which certainly closes your options for the counterattack approach.

Ultra Defensive

  • This mentality is ideal during the concluding minutes of live matches, especially when you must defend a goal lead or need a draw.
  • The squad drops to the deepest end of the pitch and avoids pressing the opponent. Instead, they maintain a compact shape and focus on not breaking the formation.
  • A great advantage of this mentality is that there are a lot of options for you to defend, and it's the perfect counter for the Ultra Attacking mentality.
  • If your players are sitting too deep, you might miss the obvious chances to counterattack. Moreover, your opponent will have better possession and exploit long shots and crosses.

That's all regarding FC Mobile 27 Game Plans. Go through our guides carefully and utilise these depending on the situation.
