Mexico national team coach, Javier Aguirre, spoke to the press today ahead of the game and announced that Raúl Jiménez and Santiago Giménez will be unavailable for the game. He also announced that Johan Vásquez will be available for Mexico's clash against the Ghana national football team.

Javier Aguirre also emphasised that the final squad list for the World Cup is still open and any player from the preliminary list can join the final roster. Speaking further with the press, Aguirre said,

No one here is guaranteed a spot right now. In that sense, I'm glad they are raising their hands. It's a source of pride for me because i haven't seen this much enthusiasm for being on the Mexican National Team in a long time.The work has been worthwhile because of the players' willingness. They want to be with their country at the big event.
