History of Mexico National Football Team: Early Years

In the early 1920s, the footballing journey of the Mexico National Football Team began. The first-ever international fixture took place back in 1923 when the team faced Guatemala. Their first-ever World Cup milestone came in 1930, when El Tri was one of the 13 teams to participate in the first-ever FIFA World Cup, which was held in Uruguay.

Located in Mexico City, the Banorte Stadium is known as the Mexico National Football Team stadium. It is famously known as Estadio Azteca now.
