Hernandez was seen as a special talent at a young age. After spending his youth days at his local club, UD Salamanca, he later joined the historic Real Madrid Castilla, one of the best academies in world football. He was featuring in Segunda División B games and was teammates with iconic players like Raúl and José Zamora.

After going on loans whilst being at Real Madrid, Hernández joined Górnik Łęczna, a Polish football club. A year later, he moved to Azerbaijan to play for Gabala FK and a year later again, he came back to play in Ekstraklasa with KS Cracovia.

Hernandez’s career gained a little bit of stability when he reached India. He signed for the club APK during the 2019-20 season and he played a crucial role for the club scoring in the final to lead them to the Indian Super League title. As a result, he got in one year contract extension and spent his time with them for another season.

He later moved to Odisha, and after playing for a season, he again moved, this time to Bengaluru FC, where he spent two seasons and was part of the team that won the Durand Cup in 2022.
