Jan Oblak - 6.0: A really strange night for Oblak. He only made one save according to the stats, which feels low. From where we were sitting, it seemed like he had little chance with either of the goals he conceded. His distribution was a bit shaky, with a pass accuracy of just 60%. Not his best performance, and he looked unusually vulnerable.

Defenders

Nahuel Molina - 7.0: A solid and energetic performance. He was a constant outlet on the right flank, making five tackles and always looking to get forward. His final ball wasn't always perfect, but his work rate was undeniable. He won all of his ground duels, showing a real tenacity that we've come to expect.

José María Giménez - 7.0: Provided the headed assist for the opening goal in a commanding aerial display. He won most of his duels and made a massive seven clearances. However, he was caught out of position once or twice, and his partnership with Hancko looked a little disjointed at times. Still, a positive contribution overall.

Dávid Hancko - 6.5: A mixed bag from Hancko. He picked up a yellow card and seemed to struggle with the movement of Sociedad's attackers, losing a few key duels. He did make six clearances and a couple of crucial blocks, but it felt like a nervy performance. He needs to find more consistency.

Matteo Ruggeri - 7.5: We were very impressed with Ruggeri. He was a creative force down the left, whipping in six crosses and grabbing the vital assist for the winning goal. Defensively he was sound, making a couple of tackles and recovering the ball five times. A really encouraging and impactful display.

Midfielders

Koke - 7.5: The captain led by example before being substituted. He created three chances, including one big chance, and controlled the tempo from deep. His passing was crisp and his defensive contribution, with three tackles won, was crucial. His experience was vital in a frantic first hour.

Rodrigo Mendoza - 6.5: Played only the first half and had a relatively quiet game. He was tidy enough in possession but didn't offer much of a creative spark. He made a couple of tackles but didn't impose himself on the match before being withdrawn. An average outing.

Thiago Almada - 6.5: Showed some nice touches and created two chances in his 54 minutes. His passing was incredibly accurate at 91%, but he struggled to find that killer final ball. We felt he was a bit too safe at times, and he was dispossessed a couple of times before being subbed.

Giuliano Simeone - 7.0: A very lively presence on the wing. He was direct and always looked to take on his man, even if his end product was sometimes lacking. He created a couple of chances and had a shot on target himself. A tireless worker who caused problems for the opposition defence.

Forwards

Alexander Sørloth - 7.5: A classic striker's performance. He took his goal superbly and was a constant menace, firing off a total of seven shots. Yes, he missed a big chance and lost a lot of aerial duels, but his presence alone occupied the defenders. A handful all game long.

Ademola Lookman - 6.5: A frustrating evening for Lookman. He got into some good positions and was involved in the build-up play, but his final action often let him down. He missed a big chance and was caught offside. You could see his disappointment when he was substituted.

Substitutes

Nico González - 9.0: The undisputed man of the match. What an impact! Came on and completely turned the game on its head with two goals. His movement, finishing, and sheer desire were on another level. This was a game-winning cameo of the highest order.

Julián Alvarez - 6.5: Came on and added energy but couldn't quite find a clear-cut opportunity. His movement was intelligent as always.

Antoine Griezmann - 7.0: His quality was immediately apparent. He added composure and provided the assist for one of Nico's goals, linking play beautifully.

Johnny Cardoso - 6.5: Brought on to shore up the midfield and did his job effectively, breaking up play and keeping things simple.

Manager

D. Simeone - 8.0: His substitutions won the game. Simple as that. Recognizing the need for a change and bringing on Nico González was a stroke of genius. The team looked vulnerable at the back but his attacking changes paid off handsomely.

Goalkeeper

Álex Remiro - 6.5: Made five saves, including some really impressive stops inside the box. However, conceding three goals never looks good for a keeper. He was let down by his defence for sure, but maybe he could have done better for one of them. His distribution was also a bit hit-or-miss.

Defenders

Jon Aramburu - 6.0: A difficult evening for the right-back. He struggled against Atleti's wingers and was often on the back foot. He made five clearances but lost most of his duels and was dribbled past. A tough learning experience for him.

Duje Caleta-Car - 6.5: A warrior-like performance, making a staggering 10 clearances. He won a lot of his duels and put his body on the line. However, the defence as a whole was disorganized, and he shares some responsibility for the three goals conceded.

Jon Martín - 6.5: Similar to his partner, he was busy and made some important interventions, including a clearance off the line. He was comfortable on the ball with high passing accuracy. Still, the defensive unit looked porous and couldn't handle Atleti's late surge.

Sergio Gómez - 6.0: A quiet game from Gómez. He was tidy in possession but offered very little going forward and wasn't as solid defensively as his team needed. He didn't lose many duels, but he didn't win many either. We wanted to see more from him.

Midfielders

Yangel Herrera - 6.0: A really tough night for Herrera. He fought hard, winning nine duels, but he lost possession a staggering 18 times and was largely ineffective. From our perspective, the game just passed him by. A disappointing performance from a player of his quality.

Pablo Marín - 6.0: Struggled to make any real impact on the game in his 55 minutes. He was neat on the ball but didn't provide any penetration or creativity. It was no surprise to see him substituted early in the second half.

Carlos Soler - 7.5: Took his goal brilliantly and was a bright spark for his team. His passing was excellent, and he worked hard defensively, making two tackles and four clearances. He was one of Sociedad's best players before being withdrawn.

Ander Barrenetxea - 6.5: Wore the captain's armband but had a mixed performance. He created one chance and showed flashes of his skill but was often wasteful in possession. He worked hard but couldn't quite unlock the Atleti defence consistently.

Forwards

Substitutes

Gonçalo Guedes - 6.5: Added a bit of spark and directness after coming on but couldn't produce a decisive moment.

Mikel Oyarzabal - 6.0: Replaced the struggling Óskarsson but had one shot blocked and was otherwise kept quiet by the Atleti defence.

Arsen Zakharyan - 6.0: Got caught offside shortly after coming on and couldn't really get into the flow of the game.

Beñat Turrientes - 6.5: Looked composed in midfield but the game was already stretched when he entered the fray.

P. Matarazzo - 6.5: His team showed great fight to score twice away from home. However, they looked defensively fragile and were ultimately undone by a tactical switch from the opposition. He tried to react with his own changes but they didn't have the same game-changing impact.
